The Opportunity

The Finance Analyst reports to the Finance Manager - Assets within the Pacific National Finance team and supports the Asset and Infrastructure Services team with a focus on business partnering with locomotive and wagon Asset Manager’s.

The appointee will be a person that can develop collaborative relationships and support in achievement of business goals through proven problem-solving capabilities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide financial support to the locomotive and wagon Asset Manager’s in relation to all financial and strategic decisions that are made in Pacific National.
  • Build and maintain strong business partnerships with locomotive and wagon Asset Manager’s
  • Collaborate and deliver finance initiatives within the finance function and operations.
  • Perform all aspects of the month end functions, annual budget, strategy and forecasts.

About You

  • Strong accounting professional, preferably in a financial or management accounting role
  • CPA/CA qualified
  • An exceptional business partner, with ability to build solid business relationships
  • Deep financial understanding of Cash Flow, P & L, financial models and financial metrics
  • Willingness to challenge the status quo in a balanced and constructive manner
  • TM1, PeopleSoft and Maximo exposure is preferred but not essential
