Integrated Planning Services is Pacific National’s integrated planning function established to deliver exceptional customer value and business outcomes by:

  • Improving labour and asset utilisation
  • Better utilisation of the scale of resources to manage demand and variability
  • Removing duplication in functions and standardising process where appropriate
  • Creating common support services across the rail businesses
  • Better influencing supplier and completive markets
  • Creating the capacity to win incremental work with reduced capital requirements.
  • Implementing common processes with quality systems to redefine work across the business
  • Broader application of functional excellence
  • Creating “One PN” face to all external stakeholders

The Opportunity 

Join a exciting, innovative function within Pacific National and bring your labour planning  experience to an environment where you will be able to challenge the status quo and bring your new ideas to life.

Working as part of a dynamic, collaborative team, you will play an important role in planning our assets across our operations nationally to ensure optimal performance. The key objective of this role is to effectively engagement with the operations team to finalise labour for the working roster, aligning crew availability with the business requirements.

The role will require to work on weekends, 1 weekend in 2 and some Public Holidays.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Ability to support initiatives that improve the utilisation of Pacific Nationals labour and assets as well as ability to identify opportunities for overall cost reduction.
  • Responsible for engaging with the business to finalise the working roster
  • Responsible for inputting known data into the rostering system to produce working rosters aligned to leave and training requirements
  • Responsible for identifying classifications, qualifications and labour availability and aligning outputs with customer requirements
  • Responsible for understanding customer interests and delivering quality services to customers

About You 

  • You are a dynamic individual with demonstrated success in stakeholder engagement with strong negotiation and communication skills in order to influence and resolve conflict within a dynamic and complex environment.
  • Ability to interpret Enterprise Agreements, and demonstrated experience collating information from databases.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving background will assist in your negotiation and decision making.
  • Able to work comfortably in an autonomous environment with broad direction, and will be motivated by the prospect of meeting tight deadlines and managing competing priorities.
  • Background in planning/scheduling within Logistics, Manufacturing or Mining industries is desirable as well as relevant tertiary or vocational qualifications or similar desirable.
