The Opportunity

Bring your resources planning experience to an environment where you will be able to challenge the status quo and bring your new ideas to life. Working as part of a dynamic, collaborative team, across a rotating 24x7 shift roster, working 12 hours shifts and a combination of days and night, you will play an important role in managing our resources in our service delivery team.

In collaboration with the team you will be responsible for managing and allocate crew and/or assets to daily work plans taking into consideration crew availability, industrial constrains, utilisation of assets and our goal which is to safely deliver better customer value. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a workforce program and allocating crew or assets to daily work plans.
  • Consulting with stakeholders to ensure the allocation of crew and tasks meet operational requirements.
  • Advise train crew of their next turn of duty, either at the time of sign-off or as per EA requirements
  • Live manage crew rosters in terms of lift up-lay back for train alterations and unplanned leave management
  • Duties assigned by the Manager as reasonably required to suit the needs of the business
  • Updating the working roster and managing variations in the crew schedule.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement to drive innovation.

  • You will have effective communication skills that will help you to build strong relationships with the crew and depot leaders.
  • A confident negotiator, you will be able to think on your feet, analyse situations consider various constraints and make calculated decisions based on knowledge and understanding of the big picture.
  • Strong systems and process skills along with a keen eye for detail and experience in resource planning, rostering, allocating or scheduling will contribute to your success in the role. 
  • Your passion for continuous improvement and a desire to build your career in logistics will set you apart from the crowd!

About the IPS

Integrated Planning Services is Pacific National’s integrated planning function established to deliver exceptional customer value and business outcomes by:

  • Better utilisation of the scale of resources to manage demand and variability
