The Opportunity

The Tactical Capacity Planner leads the development of medium-term train plans for the Coal Business Unit. The role is to design efficient, effective and safe coal haulage and supply chain solutions for customers including solutions which result in improved business performance. Opportunity can be based in either North Sydney or Newcastle. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop optimal medium-term capacity plans to ensure the efficient and effective utilisation of asset and labour resources whilst delivering customer outcomes.
  • Responsible for the design/review of new/current coal haulage services   to improve on business performance and delivery of customer expectations.
  • Determine and highlight any supply chain constraints that impact customer demand, whilst            ensuring alignment of access availability to customer contracted volumes.
  • Support the negotiation, amendment, submission and management of relevant access agreements to meet customer and service provider requirements and maximise business outcomes.
  • Drive a partnership approach with the customer and service planning teams along with other internal stakeholders to deliver consist standardised plans.

About You

  • Ideally demonstrated experience in asset management planning, scheduling or similar well regarded.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communications skills – which will also assist in delivering the right outcomes, critical thinking and well-developed decision-making skills.
  • Passionate about achieving results, problem solving and have a high attention to detail.
  • Methodical yet flexible, and a team player who can work autonomously to meet tight deadlines and competing priorities.
  • In addition, you understand supply chain realities and can navigate through operating systems to effectively deliver outcomes.
