The Opportunity

Our team is currently looking for a dynamic Terminal Manager to lead, manage and direct a group of Leaders while also having overall responsibility for management of the front line employees. You will further be responsible in the day-to-day operations of Terminal activities. The role will  build and maintain an environment that fosters a high performing and engaged team who work together to safely deliver the customer plan; as well as building and maintaining effective customer relationships and promoting Pacific National’s brand within the region.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Champion a safety culture that ensures our people return Home Safely Everyday.
  • Promote and drive continues improvement within the Perth Freight Terminal.
  • Ensure our values of Safety, Customer, People & Teamwork are incorporated in all aspects of our operations.
  • Work effectively with peers and team to initiate and implement logistical solutions that meet a wide range of stakeholder needs and expectations on a consistent basis.
  • Ensure the operational plan is implemented through best practice terminal resource, infrastructure and assets utilisation (labour, equipment, track & tarmac) in a manner that delivers superior service and performance at the lowest unit cost.

Your Experience

Accustomed to working in dynamic and industrial environments, you will possess:

  • Strong leadership and management skills with a proven track record in developing successful teams and fostering positive, collaborative, customer centric and performance oriented workplace cultures.
  • The energy, agility and capability to achieve outcomes and deliver large scale, lasting and complex organisational change and business improvement programs.
  • Financial management skills and experience with strong commercial acumen, including the ability to prepare and interpret complex reports, budgets and other analytical data.
  • A working knowledge of the relevant industrial laws, including the WHS legislation and regulations.
  • Demonstrated conflict management, negotiation and problem solving skills.
  • Tertiary Qualification in a relevant discipline is highly regarded; as is experience within Transport and Logistics or the Heavy Vehicle industry.
