The Opportunity

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Terminal Operator is responsible for the coordination, planning and efficient operation of the locomotive to ensure the train is ready to depart as per it's schedule With qualifications to drive locomotives within the terminal, you will assist with locomotive provisioning, shunting, train examination work and loading of containers as required. This role will require shift work, and adherence to all safe work instructions and standard operating procedures to ensure we achieve 'home safe, every day'.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Operate within the terminal
  • Locomotive provisioning, shunting, train examination
  • Ensure brake testing activities are completed
  • Follow all safe working and operating procedures


About You

Ideally the successful candidate will have the following:

  • Proven experience in train inspection, ground shunt and track side safety
  • High risk forklift license (LF)
  • Flexible attitude towards shift work
  • Gantry Crane Licence (CB)
  • Intermediate computer literacy skills
