The Opportunity

The role of Training Specialist is a key position within Pacific National and your responsibilities will include the management and delivery of training activities within the Victorian Freight business unit. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make your mark on the training system and work in tandem with the operations team and the numerous business partners.  Key to this role is ensuring and 'living' the core values of Safety, Customer Service, People and Teamwork, alongside the compliance, systems and planning deliverables and continuous improvement, across a 24/7 business unit.

Key responsibilities include

  • Deliver training in an operational environment
  • Develop, review and improve training processes with multiple stakeholders
  • Develop a training plan and set a training budget
  • Improve and incorporate the core values message across training methodology

About You

You may possess knowledge of rail safety worker requirements and competency frameworks, with the ability to deliver, review and improve procedures, learning materials and standards.  Your presentation and communication skills are exceptional and you able to deliver and influence within an operational environment.  You will possess demonstrated experience in formulating and monitoring training systems, and the ability to drive change with your positive people management and leadership skills.  You will be able to flexibly respond to a dynamic operational environment with a compliance focus, effectively managing multiple stakeholders and your working style will be collaborative, with a strong emphasis on adult learning within a logistics background.

 Key requirements

  • TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, MS Suite skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience in or knowledge of RTO requirements, traineeships and High Risk Licencing
  • Ability to prepare, administer and review Training Needs Analysis, Skills Matrix, Training Plans and Budgets
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, including training delivery and assessment
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the transport and logistics sector
