Leading rail freight operator Pacific National has welcomed the Federal Government’s commitment to fund the Inland Rail project.

Pacific National, a Division of Asciano Limited (ASX: AIO), has today doubled intermodal terminal capacity at its Sydney Freight Terminal (SFT) in Chullora, with the launch of two new $30 million Rail Mounted Gantry Cranes. The new infrastructure will boost throughput capacity at the SFT from 300,000 to 600,000 Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units (TEUs) each year, positioning the terminal as a critical hub to manage Sydney’s future freight growth.
